We're extremely excited in announcing that MEAT in association with Attila Marcel has been selected as the winning project for this year edition.

Incredibol! - Creative Innovation in Bologna - is a project for the growth of the creative sector of the city of Bologna and the region of Emilia-Romagna. It offers a mix of opportunities and support for innovative entrepreneurial activities: advice, training, physical spaces and funding. After two months of meetings and consultations between the partners of Incredibol! its Commission, chaired by the Bologna City Council, selected the 20 winners among the 148 participants for this edition.

Fruit takes place in Bologna form 20 to 24 March, in synergy with the 2012 Children Books Fair.
The themes Fruit wants to tackle are independent publishing, packaging solutions and fine art pints  – all areas we are very interested in.
We have been invited to talk about our experiences with Schiaffo Edizioni and to participate to a panel discussion with one of the authors from Tara Books, an independent publisher of picture books for adults and children based in Chennai, South India.
As if this wasn't enough, we will also do letterpress prints live during the event. We will create a limited series using types from our collection and specially made linocuts using our 'vintage' (which means old) letterpress. Fruit and type will obviously be the protagonists.

We nearly finished the work on the new graphic identity project for Meridiano Zero book line, recently acquired by Odoya editorial group.
After the first meeting, we immediately started to study ways to build a new editorial look focused on different characteristics – visibility, strength, functionality and originality – capable of making it stand out in the huge and ever-changing world of novels. As it frequently happens, constrictions and limitations became opportunities to start determining the real peculiarities of the project. Our, proposal, bravely accepted by Odoya, implies a strong visual break in the cover texts layout, in regards to classic canons. This choice (yet a little bit secret) came from technical thoughts and discussions about the life of books on libraries' shelves. In april the first book will be out.

A stroll at the Venice Biennal is a must.
It's a real pleasure — be it because of the mood there, be it for the beauty of the city and especially because a total full immersion in the world of the arts is always an extremely satisfying experience.

Walking in a ciy of the arts that is not always accessible and being exposed to such a variety of inputs are reasons valid enough for going there. This apart from the personal opinions on the works that are on show — huge differences in quality are physiological with so many artworks exhibited.

Moreover we found witty and interesting the graphic representation of ILLUMInations, the title of the show and its meaning.
The simple and typographically clean wordplay does not come out as banal, it's in fact quite meaningful in the expression of the theme of this Biennal edition: art as a unique and illuminating experience.
